Overview
🌐 The login page can be found at secure.payrollbytempus.com
Your login email is used as a username when accessing Tempus.
The login email is important as it is the only way a user can access their Tempus account through the web page login.
Depending on your permission granted, you may only be able to perform certain functions within Tempus.
- If you are a Manager based user of Tempus (e.g. reviewing leave applications/timesheets) you may have more than 1x login. For example:
WORK EMAIL = your Manager based user (where you login to review your teams leave applications/timesheets)
PERSONAL EMAIL = your Personal based user (where you login to submit your own leave application/timesheets)
⚠️ NOTE: The Tempus Support Team cannot grant online access or adjust your permissions. This can only be requested by your payroll contact.
Setup Online Access & Initial Login
1. You will receive two different emails for the setup of your account. The first email advises your username for login, and looks like the following:
2. The second email invites you to set a password for login, and looks like the following:
3. You need to click on the link in this email, to go through to Tempus and setup your password.
⚠️ NOTE: The password you set must meet the password complexity requirements. You cannot use a common password or an easily guessed password.
Setup Two Factor Authentication (2FA)
It is a requirement for any Tempus login to have Two Factor Authentication (2FA) setup. There is no option to have a Tempus login without 2FA enforced. The Tempus team recommends setting up both SMS and APP based 2FA methods for your convenience. The Tempus Team recommends using the Google Authenticator App.
The Tempus platform also advices the use of pass keys, which are digital keys that uses other methods to verify your identity, like biometric data or the use of your own devices for logging in.
This article is based only in the setting of your 2FA.
1. When you first login, you are prompted to setup 2FA. First begin by adding your mobile number to receive an SMS code. Click on "Add mobile phone number" to begin.
2. Enter in your mobile number in international format (e.g. remove the leading "0" from your number) into the phone number box, then click "Send Confirmation Code".
3. On your mobile you will receive an SMS with a one time code.
4. Enter in the code you received to your mobile into Tempus, then click "Confirm".
5. Your mobile number is now considered as verified, be sure to click "Enable" to enable this as a method of 2FA.
6. A pop-up window will appear with a one-time recovery code. For security reasons, this code will only be presented to you once. In order to continue, you must select a way of saving your code. After saving your code, click on "Done".
7. To confirm the setup of this mobile number, Tempus may will redirect you back to the login page. Now, when you login you will see it will request 2FA to be completed, and mobile number is now an option for this step. Select 'Send an SMS' and go through the one time code process to complete your login.
After verifying your access with the SMS code, the system will show the option to set up a passkey again. You can skip this process if it's not needed. You can also set the system to not show this step again.
Access Two Factor Authentication (2FA) Settings
1. You can access the 2FA page by clicking your name in the top right corner and then clicking "My Account".
2. Then on the left hand side, select 'Security'.
